Biography

Sven Seuken is a tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics of the University of Zurich and head of the Computation and Economics Research Group. During the Fall of 2018, he is also a Visiting Associate Professor at Stanford University. His research lies at the intersection of Computer Science and Game Theory, with a focus on (electronic) market design. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University under the guidance of David C. Parkes. Since joining the University of Zurich in 2011 he has received several awards and research grants, including a Google Faculty Research Award and an ERC Starting Grant. In 2017, he was ranked as one of the "Top 40 under 40" in the category "society and science" by the German business magazine Capital. He is also interested in practical applications of market design: he is the Chief Economist at BandwidthX, Inc. (USA), and he is a senior market design advisor for Tremor Technologies, Inc. (USA) and Covee Network (Switzerland).
